Wildwood

Monday, July 12, Wildwood, NJ
After a nice visit with the Moller Family and the hospitality offered by Amy and Gerard (another great breakfast) we put the top down and headed to the famous boardwalk at Wildwood, NJ.  We hadn't been to Wildwood in nearly 30+ years and had no idea what to expect.  Shortly after checking into the ocean front hotel, we ventured out onto the boardwalk.  The smell of the ocean was only slightly subdued by the aroma of the famous boardwalk pizza, cotton candy, sausage & peppers and other fine treats.  It's as if we popped out of a time machine as very little had changed.  I could see myself riding on the old rides, tossing the hoops on the bottles, throwing darts at the balloons, and every once in awhile having to jump out of the path: "WATCH THE TRAM CAR PLEASE".  Another hot and brutal day.  The evening cooled off a bit and we walked almost the entire length of the boardwalk (actually I think several times).  Linda had fun shopping for sun-dresses and other beach attire.  A nice evening dinner wound down the evening.  We finally hit the hotel poolside rooftop overlooking the boardwalk.  You could almost close your eyes and hear the old sounds of early 60/70 doo-wop groups.  Hopefully some of these pics will bring back some memories for those that have visited Wildwood in the past.
